So, yes. I enjoy quite a few classes and specs. I hope that Anet does not remove the uniqueness of each class with this current drive to make every class do the dame, provide the same boons, have the same type of utilities etc. It is nice to switch and see different playstyles.
The reality is often biased toward some classes for some roles, but that's always going to be the case in any game. In GW2, the difference is tending toward getting smaller and smaller all the time; ArenaNet is dialing in the class balance, at least in PvE. However, if you dislike playing melee, you won't like GW2's group PvE combat. One other thing to point out is how everything is a tele-burst now in 2022. Again, it's debatable if some players like or dislike this. But one thing is certain, Guild Wars 2 is starting to feel something akin to a game like Diablo 2 where everyone is wearing Enigma armor so they can teleport around and tele-stomp other players for kills.
Engineer is another solid choice for "best specs", but is not as "meta" as necro or eas easy to play in every game mode. Warrior is nopium. Revenant has two trash tier specs, and outside PvP and WvW roaming/zergs (at which Herald do well) you could just play Renegade in all game modes and forget about it has other specs (or core).

GW2. Best Open World Build. Bladesworn. Warrior PvE. Last Update: December 2023. This Bladesworn build focuses on dealing as much damage with the Dragon Trigger abilities as much as possible while staying alive with the might gained from Unyielding Dragon. GW2. Raid Build. Condition Alacrity Renegade. Revenant PvE. The Condition Alacrity Renegade is a DPS revenant build with ranged and condition damage options as well as decent utility for countering conditions with the Mallyx and Kalla stances. It can be played as a full DPS, or with boon duration gear be played as an alacrity provider.

There is a fire weaver in the ele board.Lord Hizen posts builds here and on YouTube-Twitch.Renegade is the new favorite I think.Just watch the dates, a lot changed earlier this year, rendering older builds outdated.Race makes no difference for the build.
The Power Untamed is a burst Roamer ranger build which has plenty of CC in melee range and mobility from its pet to stick to the target. It can control the pet more freely, allowing for one shot combos with the right set up. Longbow is also an option instead of Hammer. The Let Loose trait allows the use of the powerful ambushes like the Longbow
D/P Daredevil Roaming Build. Thief World vs World. The Shadow Arts D/P Daredevil is the highest mobility build in the game. While stealth has many counters, it still allows survival in many disadvantageous situations with dodging and movement. Along with this ability to overextend and its burst damage, it can secure kills on high priority targets.

Absolutely worth it. One thing to be wary of is that the vanilla campaign is easily the worst part of the storytelling. Dialogue is often shallow and cringy, audio sync is all over the place and some areas later on are a bit lacklustre. That said, don't let this throw you off.

Learning curve is on Average I’m listing the classes “difficulty” based on the average community experience, but your mileage may vary. For instance many people find the Engineer class difficult to level, but it clicked with me almost immediately and I find it one of the easier ones to play. 18HcRe.
