From what you said I am guessing you are low level and used the level 80 boost temporarily? Rangers have a lot of pets available to them. The wolf and raven are just 2 of the 55 that you can eventually obtain. Those 2 are available in the Norn capitol city of Hoelbrak. Just find them and charm them.
The level 80 boosts don't give you access to all the weapons available. I used my level 80 boost on a second warrior and to my disappointment it only gave me axes, a rifle, and a shield. Keep the warrior and make a new class you think you might envoy. Level that one up normally and learn the game. Once you know the game basics, you'll have no problems learning warrior even if you skipped all training and tutorials. you could also try to craft one or simpy look for groups of any dungeon.

You need 30 hero points to unlock an Elite spec, so not too hard, you just need to do 3 hero challenges in Hot/PoF. As you said the only benefit to leveling up from scratch is learning the class at a slower pace, there aren't any achievements tied to it. You do lose out on the incremental level up rewards, but those aren't that great to begin 7Dh5OAy.
